Embraced by a dream
I hear him from the darkness
and drown in his eyes.
Crows sit high in the
pines watch as I change my course.
They will lead the way.
The sound leaves make as
they dance with the wind falling
toward those who wait.

I've been writing personally and professionally for over 50 years. During the last 25 years, I have also written for the Journal Tribune in Biddeford, Maine; the Maine Sunday Telegram in Portland, Maine; Current Publishing in Westbrook, Maine; and the Reporter, a weekly newspaper based in Waterboro, Maine. I have self-published several books in e-formats, and two years ago, I released a hard-copy book entitled "From the Urban Wilderness: Life in the Southern Maine Woods," which is a collection of essays taken from a weekly column I wrote for the Journal Tribune from 2010 to 2016. It is available from Amazon.com and from Barnes & Noble. https://www.amazon.com/Rachel-Lovejoy/e/B00JJ259DS
