Trees
in your tears live others like you
reflections in a green eye
limpid quicksilver
splitting the day into a million worlds
sees us
what we are
as we pass not knowing that
if not for you
there would be no we
but the possibilities!
the infinite uncharted depths
in a single drop of you
that draw me in
pull me down
drown me
in crystal opulence
that will be
my undoing
in the end
I've been writing personally and professionally for over 50 years. During the last 25 years, I have also written for the Journal Tribune in Biddeford, Maine; the Maine Sunday Telegram in Portland, Maine; Current Publishing in Westbrook, Maine; and the Reporter, a weekly newspaper based in Waterboro, Maine. I have self-published several books in e-formats, and two years ago, I released a hard-copy book entitled "From the Urban Wilderness: Life in the Southern Maine Woods," which is a collection of essays taken from a weekly column I wrote for the Journal Tribune from 2010 to 2016. It is available from Amazon.com and from Barnes & Noble.
